Celebrate the Arts - March 25-27

Dodd will be widely represented at the District "Celebrate the Arts" Showcase, March 25 - 27 at Wylie High School. The Art show will open on Friday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wylie High School Cafeteria. Dodd students have submitted approximately 160 entries for the showcase. Each year, Dodd students make us very proud with their many awards! Their art will be on display the entire weekend.

Many of the 4th grade students have been diligently practicing for the 4th Grade All-District Choir which will perform on Friday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wylie High School Auditorium. This is always an amazing performance!

We encourage you to come out and see all that our Dodd kiddos have been doing! Special thanks to Mrs. Nichols, our amazing Art teacher and Mrs. Gustavson, our marvelous Music teacher, for all their hard work in preparing our Dodd students for this yearly event.

Dodd Spaghetti Dinner and Raffle

Dodd Family,

I hope everyone is looking forward to our 3rd annual Dodd Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, April 1st. Several local restaurants have graciously donated all of our food items. We will be sending home another reminder with your child next Monday, so be looking in their folders.

We will be serving dinner from 5:30-7:30. If you have sports activities or other plans, no problem, we will have carry out plates available for you.

The cost is $5 per person, which includes spaghetti, marinara sauce (with or without meatballs), salad, bread, a cookie and tea, water or lemonade.

The raffle drawing will be held at 7:00pm. The 1st name drawn will get to choose between the $300 VISA card and the 4th Generation IPod Touch. The 2nd name drawn will get whichever prize is remaining.

Next Thursday, March 31st, is the last day we will be accepting raffle tickets. Thus far, only 70 of 600 students have sold and turned in their tickets. We are hoping for many more of you to turn yours in by next week. Please remember that the funds raised from the spaghetti dinner and raffle will be used for field day, water day (last day of school), teacher appreciation week, and to buy 2 SMART boards for our school. Please help support your school and your PTA.

If you need more raffle tickets, you can pick them up in the school office or print off the attachment that I have included with this email.

Remember, the top 7 students that have sold the most raffle tickets will win a limo lunch with Mr. Evans and Ms. Duvall. At this point, the #1 seller has sold 70 tickets and the #7 seller has sold 20.

We appreciate your support and hope to see you next Friday, April 1st.

From the Texas PTA:

It's the biggest crisis in Texas history. Nearly five million Texas students need our help. Texas PTA is proclaiming Wednesday, March 2, as "Fund Texas' Future Day." It's imperative we make sure our "house is in order" - the Texas House of Representatives in Austin, that is. Please light up cyberspace by emailing your state representative on Wednesday, March 2.
